We couldn’t have been more excited that Caitlin and Eric shot us a message and asked us to shoot their adoption announcement photos! I (Erik) went to Marist with Caitlin and Eric and it was so great getting to catch back up with them. I met with these two to hear their story and why they were adopting. Their hearts were so full of love for their new son who is currently living in Thailand a short (according to Google) 7,400 miles away. They still have 9-12 months of patiently/anxiously waiting until they get the chance to fly to Thailand to be united with their new son. So, they decided to create a custom baby book (remember those old, durable books that as a baby you chewed, drooled and slobbered on?) filled with their photos to send off to their baby boy. What I loved most about meeting with Caitlin and Eric was hearing all the preparation they are doing to really commit to raising their new son in a Thai-American culture. They’ve taken time to study the culture, learned how to prepare some traditional Thai meals (yum!), and have started to introduce what they have learned with their extended family and friends. Here are a couple of the shots we took at Dorris Ranch. Congats again you two!
We’re definitely looking forward to watching this family grow and are grateful we got to be a small little slice of their story! Enjoy rocking that shirt Caitlin- you’re going to be a Mommy! Do you have an adoption story? Tell us about it in the comments below!
